Policy Innovation Lab Postdoctoral Fellowship in Data Science and Policy Innovation 2026-2027

The Policy Innovation Lab at Stellenbosch University’s School for Data Science and Computational Thinking offers a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in data science and policy innovation. The Lab focuses on responsible AI for policymaking, combining qualitative and quantitative research with app development to improve policymaking. Fellows will contribute to peer-reviewed research, support training programmes, and engage with experts across sectors.

Applicants must possess a PhD in engineering, data science, statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics or a related field, have a proven interest in using technology for societal impact, demonstrate strong programming abilities and quantitative research skills, and be willing to relocate to Stellenbosch for the duration of the fellowship.
