Neville Shulman Challenge Award 2025

The Neville Shulman Challenge Award provides grants of up to £10,000 to support a challenging research project or expedition aimed at advancing geographical knowledge and understanding of the planet. It is open to individuals and groups, with an emphasis on projects that are physically challenging and have local and global relevance. The award is run by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).

Financial support up to £10,000; recognition by the Royal Geographical Society; opportunity to share findings widely.

Applications are invited from both individuals and groups. Proposals related to PhD or MSc research will not be accepted; the grant is expected to provide the majority of funding needed.
