Jefferson Scholarship 2027

The Jefferson Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based undergraduate scholarship administered by the Jefferson Scholars Foundation in partnership with the University of Virginia. It identifies outstanding secondary-school students for full funding of an undergraduate education and provides leadership development, mentorship, research and international enrichment opportunities. Recipients join a network of scholars and receive academic support, networking and access to alumni and faculty mentoring throughout their degree.

Full tuition and mandatory fees; on-campus accommodation; meal plans; funding for books and academic materials; enrichment experiences such as research and international travel; leadership development programmes; mentorship and networking with faculty and alumni.

Applicants must be nominated by a participating secondary school, demonstrate outstanding academic performance, strong leadership, extensive extracurricular involvement, community service, and meet the University of Virginia undergraduate admission requirements.

Eligible students must be nominated by their participating secondary school, submit a University of Virginia undergraduate application, and progress through regional interviews and final selection interviews as part of the nomination-based selection process.
