PhD candidate in Arabic studies

The Leiden University Humanities Faculty invites applications for a full-time PhD position in Arabic studies, focusing on Arabic literature and history within the project 'The Land, Space, and Power: Landscapes of Early Caliphates' funded by the Dutch Research Council. The PhD candidate will conduct research related to the Arab-Islamic world from the 7th to 13th centuries, across Jordan, Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia, under the supervision of leading scholars. The appointment includes a residence in the Netherlands with a work visa and full relocation support, and carries a competitive salary and benefits for a fixed-term contract.
