Astronomy Camps for Teens offers immersive, residential Beginning and Advanced week-long astronomy camps on Mt. Lemmon (Tucson) that combine hands-on observing projects, experiments, and research-style projects using professional telescopes and observatory facilities. Campers live in observatory dormitories and work with Steward Observatory astronomers, graduate and undergraduate students, technical staff, and guest lecturers from universities and NASA facilities. Programs emphasize observational techniques (imaging, spectroscopy, photometry), quantitative reasoning, data collection, and presentation of research results. The camps include recreational activities and continued access to mentors and alumni networks.

Residential accommodation in observatory dormitories; hands-on use of professional telescopes (24", 32", 61" Kuiper, occasional visits to larger observatories); mentoring by astronomers and camp staff; training in imaging, spectroscopy, photometry, and research project experience.
Teilnahmevoraussetzungen
Beginning Teen Camp: students 12.5 through 15 years old. Advanced Teen Camp: students 14–19 years old who have completed Algebra II or Geometry.
