Asian Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad 2026

The Asian Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad is an annual international online competition testing knowledge and applications of astronomy and astrophysics, including mechanics, thermodynamics, quantum physics and relativity. The 2026 edition features divisions for primary school, secondary school and an open/university group (18+). The contest is a timed (30 minutes) single/multiple-choice exam offered in English and Traditional Chinese, with results announced shortly after the deadline.

Winners receive ranked awards (top percentages per group) and certificates; optional customized electronic or physical certificates, medals and trophies are available for purchase.

Open to primary and secondary school students and to participants aged 18 or above (Open/University group). Contestants choose their competition group.

Register via the event portal on the organiser's website and submit one attempt before the deadline; institutions may submit bulk entries via a group registration form.
