Africa Refocused is a collaboration between the National Geographic Society and Nature, Environment and Wildlife Filmmakers (NEWF) that equips African storytellers with training, networks and resources to create nature and wildlife narratives. The programme supports NEWF in offering professional development, capacity building, mentorship and networking through convenings such as the NEWF Congress and NEWF Fellows Summit, and through NEWF Labs providing specialized training (for example dive certification, cinematography, music composition and science communication). It aims to strengthen African-led representation in film, music, science and conservation across the continent and internationally.
