Konzertierte Aktion NFDI-Speicher 2026 (Programm Forschungsgroßgeräte)

The concerted action "NFDI-Speicher 2026" within the DFG programme Forschungsgroßgeräte funds procurement of data storage systems at German higher-education institutions to support the tasks of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and its consortia. Funding is intended for pure investment costs for all kinds of storage systems, including compute resources in reasonable relation for data processing, long-term archiving and georedundant mirroring. Projects are expected to be coordinated with NFDI consortia which must document and plausibly justify their storage needs in the application.

Co-funding (50%) for procurement of data storage systems and related compute resources for data processing, long-term archiving and georedundant mirroring.

Higher-education institutions (Hochschulen) that operate or plan to operate a data storage system to participate in the tasks of one or more NFDI consortia may apply.
