Qualification – commercialisation of research at publicly funded research organisations 2026

A funding call for qualification projects that carry out initial investigations of the potential applications of research results from publicly funded research organisations. Projects should clarify technical, market and strategic questions to enable further steps towards commercialisation or societal innovation. The call covers projects across all thematic areas at TRL level 2–7 and aims to increase the use of research results through commercial exploitation or societal innovation.

Project funding to carry out initial investigations of potential applications of research results and to clarify critical questions and uncertainties needed to progress toward commercialisation or further funding.

Approved Norwegian research organisations, Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs), and start-up companies originating from approved research organisations may apply. Sole proprietorships cannot apply.

Applications are submitted via the Research Council of Norway application portal.
