Call to strengthen R&D activity and cooperation in wellbeing services counties (2027)

A competitive funding call to strengthen cooperation between collaborative areas for healthcare and social welfare and other R&D actors, aimed at promoting R&D activity and service development in wellbeing services counties. Funding is awarded to consortium applications composed of three or more subprojects and supports R&D activities in the public domain (fundamental research, applied research and development). The Research Council of Finland will grant 8 million euros in funding under this call for 2027.

Grant funding for R&D activities (up to €800,000 per consortium) to support cooperation, R&D activity and development of health and social services.

Applications are invited from consortia composed of three or more teams. The consortium PI’s site of research must be a wellbeing services county that maintains a university hospital or the HUS Group; at least one subproject PI must have their site of research in another wellbeing services county; and at least one subproject PI must have their site of research at a university, a university of applied sciences or a government research institute.

Consortium applications must be submitted via the Academy's online services (SARA); applicants should read the call text and standard terms. Consortium composition cannot be changed after the call deadline.
