Science Without Borders® Challenge

The Science Without Borders® Challenge is an annual international art contest run by the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation that invites students to create artwork raising awareness about ocean conservation and responsible navigation. The 2027 theme is “Navigate with Care,” asking participants to show how mariners can protect marine life, conserve ecosystems and promote safety at sea. The contest is open to primary and secondary school students worldwide and is free to enter. Winners receive cash scholarships and other awards.

Cash scholarships for winners (1st: $500; 2nd: $350; 3rd: $200) and People’s Choice awards ($50 per age group).

Primary and secondary school students aged 11–19 years worldwide; parental or guardian consent required for participants under 13.

Complete the online entry form, upload an image of the artwork and two progress photos, and submit required information before the deadline; parental consent required for under-13s.
