Fully Funded Literary Residency for Writers in Saudi Arabia by the Ministry of Culture

The Writers’ Retreats and Residency Program, run by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission under Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, provides a fully funded residency for writers and creatives to develop literary projects, engage with peers, and participate in cultural activities in Saudi Arabia. It includes a dedicated track for international writers, supporting cultural exchange and exposure to the Kingdom’s literary scene. Participants work on their literary projects during the residency, participate in expert-led sessions, and visit cultural and heritage sites.

Travel tickets, accommodation, living expenses, transportation related to residency activities, free participation in the program, literary sessions and discussions with writers and specialists, mentorship, cultural activities, and networking opportunities with writers and creatives.

Active writer with at least five published literary works (or equivalent) who is currently developing a literary project and actively involved in the literary/cultural scene, with full participation in program activities.
