CoSTAR Satellite Labs (Satellite Labs funding)

The CoSTAR Satellite Labs funding awards grants to host national R&D infrastructure for the creative sector as part of the CoSTAR Network expansion. It supports consortia that reduce barriers to technology adoption by creative businesses and drive commercialisation, scale up and investment in creative technologies. Funding is provided over three years, primarily for equipment, technology, staff, utilities and an access programme. The scheme will deliver up to two Satellite Labs, each receiving up to £2 million.

Up to £2 million grant per Satellite Lab over three years; funding for equipment, technology, staff, utilities and an access programme to support SME utilisation and commercialisation pathways.

Applications must be led by a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) eligible organisation and include at least one commercial/industry co-location partner and one local or combined authority or equivalent economic development body. Lead applicants must be UK residents employed at or formally affiliated with an organisation eligible for UKRI funding, hold a doctorate or equivalent professional experience, and demonstrate outstanding track records in strategic planning and delivery of major capital or R&D programmes for the screen and performance sectors. International collaborations are not eligible.

Applications are submitted via the UKRI funding service; lead organisations submit consortium proposals meeting the specified partner requirements.
