Genomics in Context Awards

The Genomics in Context Awards fund transdisciplinary teams to catalyse discovery research at the intersection of genomics, humanities, social sciences and bioethics. Awards support collaborative projects that bring together researchers from genomics-related life sciences, humanities/social sciences/bioethics, and wider stakeholders to shape research agendas. Funding is awarded for projects lasting 12–24 months with awards of up to £500,000 each. Applications must be team-based with a lead applicant, 1–4 coapplicants and additional collaborators or consultants as needed.

Teams must include a lead applicant, 1–4 coapplicants and may include collaborators; teams must include at least one researcher from a genomics-related life science, one researcher from the humanities/social sciences/bioethics, and one wider key stakeholder. Lead applicants must have a PhD or four years equivalent research experience, have the experience to lead the project, and hold a permanent/open-ended/long-term rolling contract (or guarantee of one) for the award duration. Applicants and team members can be based anywhere in the world except mainland China.
