William Orr Dingwall Foundation Dissertation Fellowship

The William Orr Dingwall Foundation Dissertation Fellowship provides funding to doctoral candidates specializing in the cognitive, clinical, and neural foundations of language to enable full-time completion of their doctoral dissertation. The award may be used for living expenses, health insurance, equipment, travel, or other dissertation-related costs. Candidates are nominated by their Department/Program Head or Graduate Director and submit a dissertation proposal summary, supporting materials, and transcripts. Selection is made from nominees submitted by departments or programs.

Monetary award of $45,000 to support dissertation completion (living expenses, health insurance, equipment, travel, or other related expenses).

Nominees must be doctoral candidates specializing in the cognitive, clinical, and neural foundations of language. Nomination must be made by the Department/Program Head or Graduate Director.

Department/Program Head or Graduate Director nominates a candidate with a letter describing their selection process and the nominee’s qualifications. Nominee submits a 500–1,000 word dissertation proposal summary, preliminary data, official graduate transcript, curriculum vitae, and bibliography of published works.
