L’Oréal USA For Women in Science Fellowship

The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science Fellowship is a competitive postdoctoral fellowship that funds women scientists conducting basic research across the life and physical/material sciences, engineering & technology, computer science and mathematics. Each year a small number of postdoctoral researchers are awarded grants to advance their research and to support outreach activities that encourage the next generation of women in STEM. Awardees are expected to remain in postdoctoral status during the fellowship year and to carry out mentoring and outreach commitments. The program is administered by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in partnership with L’Oréal USA.

$75,000 research grant and support for outreach activities; participation in For Women in Science Awards Week.

Applicants must have a conferred PhD and have started a postdoctoral research position by January 31, 2027; must maintain postdoctoral researcher status throughout the fellowship year; must be U.S. born, naturalized citizen, or permanent resident; must be affiliated with a U.S.-based academic or research institution and plan to conduct postdoctoral research in the U.S.; must be involved in basic research in specified STEM fields and cannot hold a faculty position. Awardees must commit to at least twenty hours of outreach in support of women and girls in science and be available in November 2027 for Awards Week.
