NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP)

The NRC Research Associateship Programs are postdoctoral and senior research awards placing exceptional scientists and engineers as guest researchers at participating federal laboratories and affiliated institutions. Associates conduct self-directed research aligned with sponsoring laboratories, receive mentorship, and access state-of-the-art facilities. The program aims to foster professional growth and research career development, and to enhance the research efforts of host laboratories. Appointments are awarded through a competitive selection process.

Tenure as a guest researcher at participating laboratories, mentorship, access to laboratory facilities, and professional development opportunities.

The programs are awarded to exceptionally talented postdoctoral and senior scientists and engineers; recent doctoral graduates may also be eligible for postdoctoral appointments.
