Charlemagne Prize Fellowship 2024-2025

The Charlemagne Prize Fellowship is a one-year non-resident research fellowship offered by the Charlemagne Prize Academy. It provides a €20,000 stipend for a research project and is aimed at European junior researchers, next-generation policy experts, innovators, and thought leaders who work toward a better European Union. Fellows may conduct an independent research project individually or in a group during the fellowship period.

€20,000 stipend; opportunity to conduct independent or group research; engagement with diverse stakeholders across academia, policy, business and the public.

Applicants must hold a postgraduate degree, be younger than 35, have professional English skills (minimum C1), be a citizen of an EU member state or resident in Europe during the project, and submit an innovative research proposal with a host institution for the duration of the Fellowship.
