Académie des savoir‑faire

The Académie des savoir‑faire is a cohort-based, year-long professional development programme run by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès that focuses on a single material (e.g. wood, paper, leather). Around twenty professionals — artisans, engineers and designers — deepen their technical and cultural knowledge of the chosen material through expert-led seminars, site visits, weekend study trips and a culminating workshop. Each edition also results in a co‑published encyclopedic volume exploring the material.

Participation in a series of expert morning lectures, weekend study visits, a multi-day culminating workshop, and inclusion in a co-published encyclopedic volume.

Open to professionals without age condition — specifically artisans, designers and engineers wishing to further develop their material-specific skills.

Submit a project application in response to the Foundation's call for applications (call open 1 April–28 June 2026).
