Über diese Chance
The Stanford APARC Japan Program Postdoctoral Fellowship supports multidisciplinary research and writing on contemporary Japan. It is intended for junior scholars who focus on policy-relevant issues in Japan’s contemporary landscape, across fields such as political science, law, sociology, economics, international relations, public policy, and related areas. The fellowship provides a 10-month appointment with salary support and research funds, with residency on campus and participation in APARC activities.
Leistungen & Finanzierung
Salary during the 10-month appointment and up to USD 3,000 for research expenses; residency on campus and access to APARC events and publication opportunities.
Teilnahmevoraussetzungen
Must hold a PhD, but not more than three years past conferral at the start of the fellowship. Degree must be conferred by June 30 prior to the fellowship start, with final certification submitted no later than August 31. Must be in residence for the fellowship period and actively engage with the Japan Program at APARC.

Submit application materials by the December 1, 2025 deadline, including CV, certification of degree completion, research statement, and three letters of recommendation; status will be communicated by Stanford after materials are received.
