MPIA Summer Internship 2026

A three-month summer internship at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy (MPIA) in Heidelberg, Germany providing hands-on experience in astronomy research and instrument development. It is aimed at Bachelor’s and Master’s students and runs usually between May and September 2026. The programme is described as fully funded and does not charge an application fee. Applications are submitted online via the MPIA website.

Financial support to cover living and working in Germany and related support for the three-month internship; no application fee.

Open to international students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; Bachelor’s applicants should have completed at least four semesters; applicants must be available for the full three months and must not have graduated before the internship ends.
