IEEE AP-S Student Travel Grant

A travel grant sponsored by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society to provide partial financial support for students travelling to and attending the IEEE AP-S/URSI International Symposium in July 2026 in Detroit, Michigan. Awards are intended to partially cover in-person conference attendance expenses such as tickets, hotel, transportation and registration, and funds are disbursed by wire transfer after attendance. Recipients are expected to volunteer at the symposium and may be asked to submit a short final report and present their experience at their home institution or IEEE AP-S Chapter. Applications require a recommendation letter from the student advisor and evidence of IEEE AP-S student membership.

Partial travel funding paid by wire transfer after conference attendance to help cover tickets, hotel, transportation and registration; expectation of volunteering and possible final report/presentation duties.

General category applicants must be first- or second-year PhD students conducting research in IEEE AP-S areas. Applicants to the African nations and Latin America categories may be undergraduate students, graduate students or post-doc students. Applicants must be IEEE AP-S Student Members and student applications must have at least one paper submission to the conference as first author. Each academic supervisor may nominate only one student. Past PhD awardees and recipients of other IEEE AP-S fellowships/scholarships or concurrent AP-S/URSI travel awards are not eligible.
