A 10-week summer undergraduate research program that places students with University of Utah faculty mentors for full-time research and professional development. It is open to matriculated, degree-seeking undergraduates (nationally competitive) and includes a weekly educational series, bi-weekly meetings, required final poster presentation, and submission of a final report and one-page journal summary. The program runs May 18–July 31, 2026 and includes program events such as orientation, Grad School Mini-Expo, and a summer symposium.
Leistungen & Finanzierung
Stipend of $5,000; possible travel reimbursement up to $500 for relocating participants; access to on-campus housing with $250 participant payment (remaining cost covered); University of Utah ID card and associated campus benefits; mentorship and integrated program activities.
Teilnahmevoraussetzungen
Applicants must be matriculated, degree-seeking undergraduate students in the Fall 2025 semester (not graduating before December 2026). Applicants do not need to be University of Utah students; program is nationally competitive and accepts students from institutions across the US, including community colleges. Specific project tracks have additional requirements (e.g., HAPPIEST projects require University of Utah students; AHA projects require rising juniors or seniors graduating Spring 2026 and are open to students enrolled at US institutions, including international students). Students must be able to commit ~35–40 hours per week for the program and be at least 18 years old by May 18, 2026 to use on-campus housing.
