Microsoft Research Data Science Summer School

An intensive four-week in-person introduction to data science combining coursework and group research projects, taught by Microsoft Research scientists. The program covers data acquisition, cleaning, scripting with Python and R, applied statistics and machine learning, and culminates in an original group research project. It is intended for students considering graduate study in computer science and related fields. The course includes hands-on experience with real-world datasets and practical modeling tasks.

USD 3,000 stipend, a laptop, instruction and mentorship from Microsoft Research scientists, and participation in a group research project.

Upper-level undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a New York City-area college and who are interested in attending graduate school in computer science and related fields.
