ARSO 12th Continental Essay Competition 2025

The Africa Organization for Standardization (ARSO) in collaboration with the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) invites essays from students. The contest has national winners and a continental round, with prizes including bursaries, cash prizes, and a fully sponsored trip to ARSO's General Assembly in Tanzania (Zanzibar) for the top continental winner. Essays must address the role of education about standardisation in Africa’s development and be submitted to SABS for national judging before being forwarded to ARSO.

Open to all South African students currently registered at any tertiary institution, with foreign students at SA institutions encouraged to submit via their countries of origin.

Submit the essay to ESSAYCOMPETITION@sabs.co.za by 31 March 2025; follow the concept note guidelines.
