CIRES Sabbatical Fellowship Program 2026

The CIRES Sabbatical Fellowship Program invites scientists to join the community of researchers at CIRES in Boulder, Colorado for a visiting fellowship. The program supports interdisciplinary research across environmental sciences, with funding for a sabbatical lasting between 3 and 12 months, plus budgets for lodging and research-related travel. It has a long history of hosting scientists from around the world and aims to strengthen collaborations with CIRES, NOAA, and University of Colorado researchers.

Sabbatical fellowship for 3–12 months; lodging stipend; travel and research budget; laptop; potential reimbursement of some travel to/from Boulder.

Applicant must have an appointment at an academic or research institution and be in residence at CIRES for a minimum of 3 months during the sabbatical; applicants should be mid to senior in career.
