BID Call for Proposals for Biodiversity Funding in Sub-Saharan Africa

GBIF is inviting concept notes for project funding from sub-Saharan Africa through Biodiversity Information for Development (BID), a programme funded by the European Union. The call supports projects that mobilize biodiversity data, digitize natural history collections, apply data to decision-making, and develop networks for data sharing, with a total funding pool of approximately €600,000 across four grant types.

Funding support for eligible project activities; potential to build capacity and data sharing for biodiversity information.

Applicants must be legal entities located in an eligible African country; entities include national government agencies, GBIF Participant nodes and host institutions, natural history museums and collections, research institutes, universities, and NGOs.

Submit concept notes through the GBIF Grants Portal; if shortlisted, be invited to submit a full proposal.
