ZuluLand Innovators Hackathon 2025

The ZuluLand Innovators Hackathon 2025 is a grassroots innovation challenge organized by the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) through its CIR Programme, in partnership with local municipalities. It invites local youth, inventors, cooperatives, schools, informal traders and related groups from the Zululand District to develop practical, affordable solutions in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and community services. The event focuses on low-tech, frugal, locally driven ideas and offers in-kind support, mentorship, and opportunities for pilot projects.

In-kind support, access to CIR, mentorship and potential pilot project opportunities.

Open to local youth, local inventors, cooperatives, schools, informal traders, SMMEs, and elders from AbaQulusi, eDumbe, Nongoma, Ulundi and Pongola municipalities.

Submit a proposal topic idea including background, problem statement and proposed solution; limit submission to three pages; send by the deadline to the provided email address.
