Fondo GEMINI-ANID 2026

The Fondo GEMINI-ANID 2026 is a competitive national funding programme to support the development of astronomy research, outreach, teaching and related technologies in Chilean academic institutions. It provides project grants for research and for dissemination/divulgation activities under the collaboration agreement between ANID and the Gemini Astronomical Consortium. Proposals may be for observational or theoretical astronomy and related sciences and technologies, with funded projects of up to 24 months duration.

Project funding with specified maximum annual and total amounts depending on proposal type (development/capacity or dissemination/divulgation) for up to 24 months.

National legal entities (public or private) whose mission includes research or teaching in astronomy, astrophysics and/or astronomical instrumentation (e.g. universities, research centres, scientific societies). Researchers and academics with or without doctoral degrees who have an employment link with the sponsoring national institution and who will direct approved proposals. For dissemination proposals a doctoral degree is not required but a labour link with the sponsoring institution is.

Submit proposals via ANID systems using the provided application forms and required certificates (application form, budget, institutional commitment letters, checklist) through the ANID researcher portal.
