PhD position in iron and omega-3 fatty acid metabolism at the Institute of Genetics and Animal Biotechnology, Polish Academy of Sciences

A four-year funded PhD studentship at the Institute of Genetics and Animal Biotechnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences investigating interactions between iron metabolism and omega-3 fatty-acid metabolism using transgenic mouse and pig models. The position includes supervised research involving animal experiments, molecular and biochemical assays, bioinformatics and publication activity, and admission to the Doctoral School of Animal and Health Sciences. The studentship provides a monthly gross stipend that increases after a mid-term evaluation, annual leave and access to preferential-rate accommodation on the institute campus.

Monthly stipend (PLN 5,000 for years 1–2; PLN 6,500 for years 3–4 after evaluation), 40 days annual leave, access to preferential-rate on-campus accommodation, admission to the Doctoral School of Animal and Health Sciences.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in biology, biotechnology, animal science or a related discipline and demonstrate basic knowledge of molecular biology and physiology; laboratory or relevant experience is advantageous.
