AIMS-DFG Collaboration Visits in the Mathematical Sciences (Initiation of International Collaboration)

The AIMS-DFG Collaboration Visits support the initiation of international research collaboration between researchers in the mathematical sciences in Africa and researchers working in the German research system. Funding is available for trips to AIMS centres, guest visits to German host institutions, and scientific workshops, typically for periods of up to three months per visit. Collaborative measures must be carried out within 12 months of approval.

Applicants must be researchers who have obtained their doctorates and are working in the German research system (special rules for non-university research institutions). Fellows from African countries may be funded through a German applicant and must have a doctorate, be on track to defend their thesis, or show proof of research activity; publication in a peer-reviewed journal is expected.

Proposals must be submitted solely via the DFG elan portal and addressed to the DFG review board 'Mathematics' (Fachkollegium 3.31 Mathematik). Applicants must register in the elan portal if first-time users.
