WMO Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) — Early to Mid-Career Member

The WMO Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) selects independent experts to provide scientific and strategic advice on weather, climate, water, and related environmental and social sciences. This call seeks early to mid-career professionals to fill up to two open positions on the SAP. Members serve in a personal, voluntary capacity, contribute to panel work and meetings, and advise WMO governing bodies on scientific and technological matters.

Service as an SAP member, participation in virtual and one annual in-person session, potential travel support for the in-person session.

Early to mid-career scientists and professionals (active researchers up to 12 years after receiving their PhD, excluding parental and care leave). Applicants from the private sector and individuals from under‑represented communities and regions (including South America, Africa and the Pacific), as well as women and minorities, are encouraged to apply.
