The AI, Law & Ethics Research Awards 2026 invite proposals for research, policy work, and tool development projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, law, and ethics. The awards are targeted toward proposals from individuals or teams across diverse backgrounds and institutions, with categories for theoretical/empirical research, policy papers, and AI-driven proof-of-concept tools for the legal domain. An honorarium is provided per project, along with access to technical support and resources, and opportunities for presenting and networking with leading scholars in AI and law.

Honorarium of $2,000 per project; access to technical support and development resources; access to research materials; opportunity to present at MiLA Lab sessions; mentorship and networking opportunities with leading AI and law scholars.

Requisitos

Open to scholars, students, legal practitioners, and technologists with an interest in AI and law; cross-institutional collaborations involving a University of Miami collaborator are prioritized.

Solicitud

Submit a ZIP file containing the research proposal (750–1,000 words), abstract (up to 150 words), project description, timeline with milestones, CV or résumé; optional publications or code samples; and send to MiLA@law.miami.edu with the subject line “Research Award Application – YOUR_NAME.”
