Pulitzer Center Local Letters for Global Change Contest 2026

The Pulitzer Center Local Letters for Global Change Contest 2026 is a writing competition for current K-12 students worldwide. Participants write a one-page letter to a local elected representative addressing a global issue, linking it to the local community, and proposing a solution. Prizes include cash awards for winners and finalists, publication of the letter, and an invitation to a virtual town hall event.

First place prize: $300 to support global community engagement in the classroom; publication of the letter and author bio on the Pulitzer Center website. Finalists: $75 for classroom engagement. All entrants invited to a virtual town hall event.

Entries are welcome from all current K-12 students worldwide. Letters may be in English and/or Spanish.
