Helmholtz-Validierungsfonds

The Helmholtz-Validierungsfonds (HVF) is a Helmholtz funding programme to support the validation and transfer of new technologies into applicable products and services. It helps identify application fields, develop prototypes and build production capacity, and supports (pre)clinical studies in the medical area. Selected projects receive financial support and management accompaniment including business expertise and project managers; funding is disbursed in milestone-dependent tranches.

Project funding (€250,000–€1,000,000 per year), milestone-based tranche disbursement, coverage of personnel and third-party costs, management support and project pates providing business expertise; support for prototyping, production steps and (pre)clinical studies where applicable.

Funding is awarded to projects at the respective Helmholtz centres or to cooperation partners from industry; projects are funded via the corresponding Helmholtz centre.

Projects are submitted and funded via the respective Helmholtz centre; funds are paid to the Helmholtz centre in milestone-dependent tranches and release of funds depends on milestone achievement.
