Información
CoastSnap Dublin Bay is a local installation of the global CoastSnap citizen science project that uses fixed stations and mobile phones to build a long-term photographic record of coastal change. The Booterstown station records shoreline change, salt marsh plant cover, bird presence and other environmental processes. Members of the public can contribute by taking and uploading photos at the stations or via the CoastSnap app, creating a community database for researchers. Additional stations on Bull Island will monitor beach and dune erosion and accretion.
Beneficios
Contributors' photos become part of a long-term research dataset documenting coastal change; opportunity to engage with local coastal science.
Requisitos
Anyone visiting the CoastSnap Dublin Bay stations; no scientific expertise required.
Solicitud
Visit a CoastSnap station, place a mobile phone in the holder, take a photo and upload it via the station QR code or use the CoastSnap mobile app for uploads.
