The Gibbs Foundation Scholarship

The Gibbs Foundation Scholarship is an undergraduate award for first-year students studying within the School of Law or the School of Economics and Finance at Queen Mary University of London. It recognises talented Black Caribbean students who demonstrate academic potential and who face financial hardship or come from lower-income backgrounds. The scholarship provides financial support over the degree and includes mentoring, access to professional networks, work experience opportunities and personal and professional development support. Continued receipt is subject to satisfactory academic progress and conduct.

Financial award totalling £28,605 (paid at £9,535 per academic year); mentoring; access to professional networks; insight into career pathways; work experience opportunities; personal and professional development support.

Be assessed as a Home student for tuition fee purposes; be of Black Caribbean or Mixed Black Caribbean heritage; have accepted an offer from Queen Mary University of London to study an undergraduate degree within the School of Law or the School of Economics and Finance; be a first-year student enrolled in those Schools.

Submit the completed application form and essay response by email to hss-feedback@qmul.ac.uk by the deadline. Applications are considered by a selection panel from Queen Mary University of London and The Gibbs Foundation.
