LMP Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program

The LMP SURE Program is a summer research placement that places undergraduate students in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology (LMP) laboratories at the University of Toronto for at least 12 weeks of full-time research. Participants undertake a supervised research project, attend lectures and career development seminars, and present their work at an LMP SURE Research Day. The program includes an orientation session and culminates in a poster presentation to a panel of judges.

Applicants must have at least a B+ (cGPA 3.3) in an undergraduate program, be registered in a full-time undergraduate program in the academic term immediately prior to the SURE program and expect to return to full-time studies after the program, and must secure an LMP supervisor before applying. Eligible applicants include Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and international students who currently study at a Canadian university with a valid student visa and social insurance number. Students who have completed their undergraduate program by the start date are ineligible unless they are accepted into or enrolled in certain professional or graduate programs.

Applicants must secure a supervisor from the LMP faculty directory and submit a single online application (form) including resume, transcript and cover letter; follow-up selection by supervisors may include interviews.
