21st Century Museum Professionals Grant Program 2025

The 21st Century Museum Professionals Grant Program (21MP) supports projects that offer professional development to the current museum workforce, train and recruit future museum professionals, and identify and share effective practices in museum workforce education and training. The program aims to strengthen career pathways and professional networks through partnerships among museums, museum-serving organizations, and higher education institutions. Grants range up to $500,000 and focus on workforce development and training in museums.

To be eligible as a museum, you must be a unit of state or local government or a private nonprofit organization with tax-exempt status, located in the United States or certain territories, and meet criteria describing a museum that operates with professional staff and public exhibits.
