Alicia Patterson Fellowships 2024 for Journalists

The Alicia Patterson Fellowships provide one-year and six-month grants to working journalists to pursue independent projects. Fellows write articles based on their investigations, which are published by the Foundation and other outlets. Beginning with the 2016 class, an additional fellow specializing in science or environmental journalism is included as a Cissy Patterson fellow; all applicants compete for the main Alicia Patterson fellowship, with consideration for science or environment topics.

Stipend; travel and research cost coverage; publication of articles by the Foundation and other media outlets.

Open only to U.S. citizens who are fulltime print journalists, or to non-U.S. citizens who work fulltime for U.S. print publications, either in America or abroad.
