Let's Discover Female Scientists (Descubramos a las Científicas) - 2026 video contest

Let's Discover Female Scientists is a video contest run by the Women for Science Program of the InterAmerican Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS). The contest solicits short videos produced by students that highlight the careers and contributions of women scientists in the Americas. Prizes and diplomas are awarded by an international jury in two age categories, and finalist videos are published online to increase visibility for participants and featured scientists. The 2026 edition received more than 80 submissions from students across 14 countries.

First prize USD 600 and second prize USD 400 in each category; finalists receive a diploma; finalist videos are published online.

Students in two age categories may participate: 14 to 18 years old, and 19 to 23 years old.

Produce an original up-to-three-minute video, upload it to an open-access platform and register the submission via the official online form.
