Seeking Solutions for Global Challenges Award

The Seeking Solutions for Global Challenges Award is a Fulbright Finland Foundation fellowship enabling Finnish professionals and postdoctoral researchers to conduct research or professional projects at an appropriate U.S. institution or organization on topics of current and global importance. Projects may be in any discipline and are encouraged to address issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals or other globally significant challenges. Proposed projects should produce benefits of significance to a wider community and local projects with international relevance are eligible. Medical research involving clinical training, patient care or patient contact is explicitly ineligible.

Monthly grant (max USD 5,000/month, up to 6 months, max USD 30,000), J-1 visa (and J-2 for accompanying family), personal advising and guidance, orientation training, networking and Fulbright enrichment activities, access to global Fulbright alumni network.

Open to Finnish professionals and postdoctoral researchers; postdoctoral applicants should have completed their PhD less than four years before the application deadline. Non-academic affiliations require special review and separate approval.
