Botanical Advocacy and Service Grant

The Botanical Advocacy and Service Grant is an annual award run by the Botanical Society of America and the American Society of Plant Taxonomists to support projects that shape public policy, increase public engagement, or connect policymakers to botanical science. The recipient receives a monetary award to be used for the proposed project and is recognized at the Society's annual Botany meeting. Grant recipients must submit a brief summary of their activities with an image to the Plant Science Bulletin by August 15 of the following year for publication.

$1,000 project funding; recognition at the annual Botany meeting; publication of a project summary with an image in the Plant Science Bulletin.

Projects that improve public knowledge, connect with policymakers, or take direct action on plant-science-relevant issues; proposals should briefly explain the grantee's qualifications and institutional affiliation. Projects that lay groundwork for longer-term transformation or support those who face systemic disadvantage are viewed favorably.
