Membership (Zuwahl) 2025 – Die Junge Akademie

The Zuwahl 2025 is a competitive call to join Die Junge Akademie as one of ten new members for a five-year membership. It is aimed at outstanding young researchers and artists from all disciplines and offers members a research budget, a personal budget for individual support, and access to an interdisciplinary network and collaborative projects. Members are expected to actively participate in the Academy's events, which take place predominantly in Germany.

Five-year membership; research budget; personal budget for individual support; access to an interdisciplinary network and participation in collaborative projects; invitation to selection interviews (if shortlisted) and admission at the Summer Plenum.

Outstanding young scientists and artists with a completed doctorate or an equivalent artistic qualification may apply. The doctorate or qualifying artistic exam must have been completed between three and seven years before the application deadline (parental, caregiving and illness periods are considered). Applicants should have good German language skills and be able to participate in events held mainly in Germany.

Apply exclusively online via the Academy's application platform; a two-stage selection follows, with shortlisted candidates invited to interviews in Berlin in February 2025 and final admission at the Summer Plenum 2025.
