African Liberty Writing Fellowship 2026

The African Liberty Writing Fellowship 2026 is a 12-month online fellowship designed to identify, train, and amplify emerging African writers who are passionate about freedom, individual rights, and limited government. Accepted applicants undergo a 5-week online training, after which top candidates are admitted as fellows. The program includes a structured year-long writing development experience with opportunities for media features and publication.

Monthly stipend; opportunities for television and radio features; publication in leading African newspapers; participation in a year-long writing development program; mentorship with experienced editors.

Applicants must be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an African institution of higher learning, or be an African pursuing higher education outside the continent; must be available to participate in all of the program.
