Schools Geology Challenge

The Schools Geology Challenge is a team competition for secondary students to research and present a geoscience topic and to complete a problem-solving final. Entries to the Qualifiers are submitted online and the top scoring teams are invited to an in-person Final at Burlington House, London. Prizes include a trophy, certificates, cash awards for schools and a year’s Student Membership of the Geological Society.

A trophy; a certificate for each team member; £500 to use towards geoscience education at the winning school; £200 for each runner-up school; a year’s Student Membership of the Geological Society; travel reimbursement up to £700 for finalists.

Open to students currently studying geology, geography or science A levels (England/Wales/Northern Ireland), or Advanced Highers (Scotland).

Submit one team entry via the online entry form for the Qualifiers; entries are judged and the top 10 teams are invited to the in-person Final.
