ASM Student and Postdoctoral Travel Award

A travel award program recognizing outstanding abstracts submitted by undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral researchers presenting at one of the three ASM Microbe meetings. Five recipients from each meeting receive a monetary award to defray travel expenses and complimentary meeting registration. Awards are determined by the ASM Microbe Program Committee and selected on the basis of scientific quality of submitted abstracts. Travel award funds are provided following the conclusion of ASM Microbe 2026 upon confirmation of attendance.

$1,000 travel award and complimentary registration for ASM Microbe 2026

Applicants must be current ASM members at time of application and remain active through the 2026 meeting; submit a scientific abstract not previously published or presented; provide a CV, two letters of nomination on institutional letterhead, and an applicant statement (limit 500 words); not have received an ASM Microbe travel award within the last two years; and be an undergraduate student, graduate student or postdoctoral researcher.
