Summer Undergraduate Research Program in Chemistry

A 10-week intensive summer research program for current Stanford University undergraduate students to conduct full-time research in the Department of Chemistry. Participants conduct research, present to peers, write a final research report, and present a poster at a department event. The program includes mandatory meetings, Chalk Talks, a group presentation with the professor and a final approximately five-page report. The program is administered by the Undergraduate Affairs Committee of the Chemistry Department.

Stipend ($8,500 plus up to $1,500 need-based supplement), access to Stanford summer housing, full-time research experience, mentorship, presentation and poster opportunities, and a final signed research report.

This program is open to Stanford undergraduates only. Participants must conduct research in the Department of Chemistry; other department placements require prior approval.

Identify and contact a Chemistry faculty member and prospective research mentor, prepare a two-page proposal and obtain the sponsoring professor's appended letter of recommendation, then email the completed documents to the student services administrator by the application deadline.
