Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows in Chemistry (SURF-C)

A nine-week summer research program placing undergraduate students into chemistry research groups at Princeton University to work alongside faculty, postdocs and graduate students. Participants take part in research discussion groups, career seminars, scientific literacy workshops, required training, an industrial site visit, and present at a Summer Research Symposium. Housing in the Summer Research Learning Village is available for some tracks. The program runs full-time and requires completion of the entire nine-week cohort.

Educational stipend for Leach Fellows; summer housing in the Summer Research Learning Village and a 14-meal/week meal plan for Leach Fellows; research experience, seminars, workshops, industrial site visit, and opportunity to present at the Summer Research Symposium.

Undergraduate students (Princeton and non-Princeton) who are currently majoring or plan to major in chemistry; specific tracks for Princeton freshmen and sophomores, rising seniors, and non-Princeton undergraduates.

Apply through the appropriate system based on eligibility: Princeton Leach applicants via the University Global Programs System Portal; non-Princeton students may apply via Leadership Alliance; rising-senior interns arrange a summer internship with a faculty mentor and submit written confirmation and required paperwork to the program administrator.
