African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications

The African School of Fundamental Physics and Applications (ASP) is a multi-week school that provides intensive instruction in fundamental and applied physics topics. The 9th edition (ASP2026) is planned to run at the University of Nairobi from July 5 to 19, 2026. The program includes lectures, presentations, discussions, and a one-day ASP Forum with policy makers, lecturers, students and industry participants. Students receive subject teaching across a range of physics topics and opportunities for talks, networking and exposure to research and applied physics areas.

Three-week instruction covering a wide range of physics topics (e.g. particle physics, cosmology, detectors, computing, medical physics), participation in the ASP Forum with talks and discussions, and networking with lecturers and peers.

Students from across Africa attend the school.
